renardtrickster:

I’m tired of people being stupid about this. Boys, masculinity isn’t some radioactive toxin nor is it an inherently virtuous quality handed down straight from heaven. It’s a manner of expression and the only thing you can say about it is what you make of it. The people who hate masculinity in any form and want to exterminate it don’t care about you. The people who shun non-masculinity in men and equate it to weakness only pretend to care. Ultimately, there is no right way to perform or not perform or embody it. Let your emotions run free or be reserved about it, just don’t let the emotions you bottle/let loose hurt yourself or someone else. Pursue traditionally male hobbies/interests or eschew them in favor of something else, just don’t deride those who chose a different path than your own. Whether you’re wholly masculine, wholly non-masculine, effeminate, or a blending of any of the above, you should choose to live your life the way you want to and express yourself the way you want to rather then let someone else politicize it.
